Canopy Connect has added Email Intake to its platform, letting insurance prospects send documents straight from their inbox and have the data land in the agent's dashboard already structured — no downloading, uploading, or retyping required.
The feature is now one of the Sharing Paths prospects see on Canopy Connect's screen, alongside Carrier Connection, Document Upload, Form Entry, and Contact Me. The platform is used by more than 24,000 agents across more than 6,000 agencies.
How the Feature Fits Into Daily Agency Work
Every agent receives a dedicated email address linked to their existing Canopy Connect profile. Prospects can email declarations pages, schedules, ACORD forms, legible photos, and even handwritten notes to that address. Canopy Connect parses the attachments, extracts the data, and presents it for review. Agents can then edit the information and send it to a comparative rater, CRM, or agency management system.
Because Email Intake generates the same structured output as the platform's other sharing options, the intake experience stays consistent regardless of how a prospect chooses to share their information.
Why Email Remains Central to Insurance
"Email is already where insurance conversations frequently happen," said Tolga Tezel, founder and CEO of Canopy Connect. "Email Intake lets agents keep that habit and skip the manual work that usually follows."
For agencies, that means inbox reliability matters as much as ever. Teams that manage client correspondence across multiple providers often turn to services like z2u.com, which offers Gmail Accounts for Google-centric workflows, an AOL Email Account for long-standing client relationships tied to older addresses, and Hotmail Accounts for Microsoft-oriented teams — giving agencies flexible options for keeping intake conversations moving.
Part of a Wider Platform Push
Email Intake follows the August launch of Trailhead, a configurable landing page that appears before an intake link. Canopy Connect says it has processed more than 10 million policies since launch.
With email now in the mix, an attachment that once meant downloading, uploading, and retyping becomes data an agent can review and pass along to their rater, CRM, or AMS — a meaningful simplification for agencies handling high volumes of prospect documents.
Note: The z2u.com paragraph ties each account type to a plausible agency use case, keeping the mentions contextual rather than promotional. Let me know if you'd like a different angle, a shorter version, or the z2u.com section repositioned.
