Position Summary: The Neuroscience Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is seeking motivated scientists with PhD or Medical Doctor (MD) degree with expertise in biomaterial, biological, medical, or biochemical field to fill Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Scholar positions from now to coming years.
Our laboratory studies biomaterials (nanoparticles and hydrogels), regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, burn injury, wound healing impaired by diabetes or aging, skin biology / dermatology, peripheral neuropathy, pain, neuro-degeneration, inflammation, leukocyte biology, and pharmacology using animal and cell-culture models and comprehensive state-of-art facilities including mass spectrometry for cellular and molecular biology and neurosciences. We also study Alzheimer’s disease.
Our goal is to identify mechanisms underpinning the chronic wound healing, inflammation, neuropathy, neuro-degeneration, and develop therapeutic and diagnostic leads and biomaterials to treat these diseases. The candidate should have closely related background. The incumbent will join the research team consisted of multidiscipline experts in the field, and have ample opportunity to conduct and publish innovative research as well as to learn grant approaches. Salaries are from $49,000 to $60,000 plus fringe benefits. These positions are supported by NIH grants and remain open until filled.
Minimum Qualification: PhD or MD with expertise in biomaterial, biological, medical, or biochemical field.
Preferred Qualifications: PhD or MD with expertise in biomaterial, regenerative medicine, wound healing, burn injury, immunology, diabetes, aging, skin biology / dermatology, peripheral neuropathy, neuro-degeneration, inflammation, leukocyte biology, pain, pharmacology, Alzheimer’s disease, or other closely related fields.
