The University of Washington Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UWCSSA) is an officially recognized student organization under the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco. We are dedicated to enriching the campus life of Chinese students and scholars at UW, while strengthening communication, cultural connection, and mutual support within the community. Each year, we actively organize a diverse range of events, including the Chinese New Year Gala, Husky Voice Singing Competition, club nights, academic and career development workshops, sports tournaments, music festivals, welcome receptions for new students, and networking events modeled after popular Chinese programs.

Established in the early 1980s, UWCSSA is one of the pioneering Chinese student associations overseas. Over nearly four decades of development, we have grown into one of the largest and most influential Chinese organizations in the Pacific Northwest. More than 2,000 members currently hold digital membership cards, over 4,000 students and scholars have registered with us, and our social media platforms each have over 10,000 followers. Our members consist of Chinese students and scholars studying at the University of Washington, as well as alumni and Chinese professionals living and working in the Seattle area.

With a mission rooted in service and community support, UWCSSA strives to promote cultural exchange, foster friendship, and help Chinese students better adapt to studying and living in the United States through a wide variety of engaging and meaningful activities every year.
